S. African ferrochrome (FeCr) producer Hernic said on Tuesday it expects prices for the metal to rise more than 10% in Q4.
Benchmark FeCr prices, rose in Europe by 6.8% for the third quarter, to a record level of $2.05/lb, up from $1.92/lb in the second quarter of 2008. Analysts had hoped for a jump of 15-20% to $2.20-$2.30/lb.
